The Windmill Dental Promise

Windmill Dental is where modern dentistry meets Western charm. Dr. Whetten and his wife, Tiffany, built Windmill Dental in 2019 as a private dental practice that offers exceptional services in a state-of-the-art environment while always keeping the patient a top priority. To accomplish this goal, many principles were and are continually put into effect:

Windmill Dental is more than a dental practice; it’s an entire team

This is something that is very apparent from the moment someone walks through the door. We are a collective group all working towards a common goal: patient satisfaction and Windmill Dental’s success. Our team cares deeply for each other, our patients, and the mission of our practice.

A desire to always be better

Dr. Whetten is a continuing education junkie. He has completed hundreds of hours in implant placement, endodontics, oral surgery, occlusion, and cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry. The Windmill team also consistently attends both individual and group trainings multiple times every year.

Staying up to date in technology

Our patients deserve to have the best available, and at Windmill Dental, we have a love for new technology. Our office is fully digital, and we invest in cutting-edge equipment like 3D printers, Multiple IO scanners, Cone Beam technology, and laser therapy.

Our amazing patients who refer friends and family members and write positive reviews give us the validation we need to know we are doing something right.

Dr Whetten's family image

Meet Dr. Whetten

Dr. Austin A. Whetten was raised on his family’s cattle ranch in New Mexico. Ranching continues to influence Dr. Whetten’s life as well as impact the person he is today. His upbringing instilled a strong sense of family that he cherishes and strives to implement in his own life. Returning to the ranch for branding each year with his wife, Tiffany, daughter, Raylen, and two sons, Lincoln and Jase, is always a priority.

Dr. Whetten graduated from New Mexico State University and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation, his training and experience have only expanded. Dr. Whetten has completed hundreds of continuing education hours in implant dentistry, wisdom teeth removal, endodontics, occlusion, and aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry. He continuously seeks training and professional development courses to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in dental care.

State-of-the-Art Technology

Our office utilizes the latest dental technology to provide our patients with very efficient and effective dental treatments.

  • 3D & Panoramic X-Rays — Our detailed digital X-rays assist our team with a variety of different services, like orthodontics and implant placements, as well as diagnosing dental issues that are invisible or difficult to detect with the naked eye.
  • Smile Preview Software — Our team can show you a digital simulation of what your smile will look like before a specific restorative or cosmetic dental service is performed to provide you with an opportunity to make adjustments to your treatment plan if you desire.
  • Intraoral Camera — Ever wish you could see what your dentist sees? Intraoral cameras are handheld devices that stream live video to a screen that can be viewed by both the dentist and the patient. They also take photos that can be added to a patient’s file for future reference.
  • Soft-Tissue Lasers — Dental lasers may sound intimidating, but they actually tend to be more comfortable for patients. Soft-tissue lasers are very precise and efficient at repairing gum tissue that has been adversely affected by periodontal disease.
  • Trios Digital Scanners — Digital scanners negate the need for goopy dental impressions that require biting into a tray full of dental putty. A small device is simply run over the teeth and gums, capturing thousands of images and creating highly accurate digital impressions.
  • Isolite System — Isolite systems illuminate the inside of the patient’s mouth and provide a place for the patient to rest their jaw during treatments while simultaneously suctioning saliva. Isolite helps make procedures faster, more efficient, and more comfortable for the patient.
  • 3D Printing — Our office uses CAD/CAM technology to design custom dental restorations for our patients. Once perfected, our 3D printer can create a brand new restoration in less than an hour! This helps make appointments faster and more convenient for our team and our patients.
