CONTACT USThe Windmill Dental Promise
Windmill Dental is where modern dentistry meets Western charm. Dr. Whetten and his wife, Tiffany, built Windmill Dental in 2019 as a private dental practice that offers exceptional services in a state-of-the-art environment while always keeping the patient a top priority. To accomplish this goal, many principles were and are continually put into effect:
Windmill Dental is more than a dental practice; it’s an entire team
This is something that is very apparent from the moment someone walks through the door. We are a collective group all working towards a common goal: patient satisfaction and Windmill Dental’s success. Our team cares deeply for each other, our patients, and the mission of our practice.
A desire to always be better
Dr. Whetten is a continuing education junkie. He has completed hundreds of hours in implant placement, endodontics, oral surgery, occlusion, and cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry. The Windmill team also consistently attends both individual and group trainings multiple times every year.
Staying up to date in technology
Our patients deserve to have the best available, and at Windmill Dental, we have a love for new technology. Our office is fully digital, and we invest in cutting-edge equipment like 3D printers, Multiple IO scanners, Cone Beam technology, and laser therapy.
Our amazing patients who refer friends and family members and write positive reviews give us the validation we need to know we are doing something right.
Meet Dr. Whetten
Dr. Austin A. Whetten was raised on his family’s cattle ranch in New Mexico. Ranching continues to influence Dr. Whetten’s life as well as impact the person he is today. His upbringing instilled a strong sense of family that he cherishes and strives to implement in his own life. Returning to the ranch for branding each year with his wife, Tiffany, daughter, Raylen, and two sons, Lincoln and Jase, is always a priority.
Dr. Whetten graduated from New Mexico State University and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation, his training and experience have only expanded. Dr. Whetten has completed hundreds of continuing education hours in implant dentistry, wisdom teeth removal, endodontics, occlusion, and aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry. He continuously seeks training and professional development courses to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in dental care.
Meet the Windmill Dental Team
Kylie, RDA
Kylie grew up in Muleshoe with a strong agriculture background, spending her life around horses, cattle, and the hardworking values that come with ranch life. That western lifestyle helped shape the incredible work ethic she brings to Windmill Dental every single day—the tougher the day gets, the harder she works for both her patients and coworkers.
As Windmill Dental’s Lead Assistant, Kylie brings unmatched energy, leadership, and positivity into the office while helping create the strong team culture patients experience from the moment they walk through the doors. She is incredibly talented with dental technology and plays a major role in designing and milling crowns in-house, helping deliver efficient, high-quality care for patients. One of Kylie’s favorite parts of dentistry is building lasting friendships and relationships with both patients and teammates, and her passion for patient care is easy to see in every interaction she has.
Outside the office, she loves traveling, spending time with family, and being with her sweet dog. Kylie is also passionate about basketball, having played collegiately, and still loves the game so much that she and Dr. Whetten have even competed together in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. She’s also proudly known around the office as the ultimate Billie Eilish super-fan.
Araceli, RDA
Araceli grew up in Muleshoe surrounded by the agriculture lifestyle, spending her life around horses, ranches, and feedlots that helped shape her hardworking and down-to-earth personality. She’s a huge country music fan, and if there’s a concert anywhere near Amarillo or Lubbock, there’s a good chance she’ll be there—she even managed to get tickets to see the legendary George Strait during his highly sought-after Farewell Tour stop in Lubbock.
At Windmill Dental, Araceli is known for being incredibly relatable and welcoming with patients, helping each person feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they walk in. Her warm personality and genuine compassion create an environment where patients can relax and feel confident they are in good hands.
Caleigh, Financial / Schedule Coordinator
Caleigh’s love for people, organization, and creativity has made her a perfect fit as one of Windmill Dental’s financial and scheduling coordinators. Family is incredibly important to her, and that caring, nurturing personality shines through in every interaction she has with patients.
Rooted in western values like hard work, dependability, and treating others with kindness and respect, Caleigh helps create a welcoming environment where patients instantly feel comfortable and appreciated. She loves the “small big town” feel of Amarillo and values being close to family, friends, and the community she calls home. Outside the office, Caleigh enjoys spending time with loved ones, caring for her animals, reading, puzzles, crafting, and all the little moments that make life meaningful. One of her favorite parts of dentistry is building genuine relationships with patients and helping them feel more like family than just another appointment.
Whether she’s helping patients navigate finances and scheduling or simply greeting them with a smile, Caleigh is passionate about creating the best experience possible from the very first phone call to the moment patients walk through the doors. Her confidence, warmth, and dedication to going above and beyond help make every patient feel comfortable, valued, and truly cared for.
Britney, RDH
Britney grew up in Fritch, where western values, strong work ethic, and caring for others were simply part of everyday life. Growing up around the western lifestyle taught her ambition, resilience, and the importance of building meaningful relationships—values she now hopes to pass along to her own boys. As one of the foundational members of Windmill Dental’s hygiene department, Britney helped build the strong culture and patient experience the practice is known for today.
A dedicated hygienist and mother of two, she brings a calming and gentle presence that immediately puts patients at ease, which is one of the many reasons her patients absolutely love her. Britney is deeply passionate about continuing education, always seeking out the latest advancements in technology and therapeutic care to better serve patients. She especially enjoys educating patients on the connection between oral health and overall systemic health, helping them better understand the impact a healthy smile can have on their lives. Whether she’s traveling to local schools to teach children or creating lifelong relationships with patients in the office, Britney has a true passion for helping others feel safe, understood, and cared for.
Katelyn, RDH
Katelyn brings energy and enthusiasm everywhere she goes —both inside and outside the office. A proud Amarillo native, she loves the close connection to family and the feeling of being home in the Texas Panhandle. When she’s not caring for patients at Windmill Dental, she’s usually staying active through sports, especially volleyball, spending time with family, or traveling whenever she gets the opportunity. She also has a huge passion for cars and performance culture—honestly, something straight out of The Fast and the Furious.
Around the office, everyone jokes that they always know when Katelyn is arriving or leaving because her car can practically shake the building. Despite that high-energy hobby, Katelyn brings a calm, easygoing “live and let live” personality into patient care that helps people immediately feel comfortable and relaxed. She loves helping patients smile with confidence and believes a good day truly starts with a smile. Katelyn is passionate about staying up to date with the latest advancements and adjuncts in dentistry so she can continue providing the best care possible. She values building genuine personal connections with patients because she believes trust and comfort are a huge part of creating an exceptional dental experience.
Melanie, RDH
Melanie is a proud Amarillo native whose contagious smile and joyful personality instantly make patients feel welcome the moment they walk through the door. She loves the “small big town” feel of Amarillo and values the close connection to family and community that makes the area feel like home.
Outside the office, Melanie enjoys traveling, spending time with family, working out, and expressing her passion for fashion and style. She is also known for her growing presence on social media, where she enjoys creating content centered around fashion, fitness, and life as a hygienist. With a large and loyal following, Melanie’s positive energy and creativity continue to inspire people both inside and outside the office. Patients frequently leave positive reviews about how comfortable and at ease she made them feel during their visits, and her happiness radiates throughout the entire practice.
Beyond her outgoing personality, Melanie is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about dentistry, especially when it comes to educating patients about their oral and overall health. She enjoys using professional intraoral photography and advanced technology to help patients better understand their smiles and treatment needs because she believes dentistry is never “one size fits all.” It is easy to see how deeply she cares about her profession—and patients quickly grow to love her because of it.
State-of-the-Art Technology
Our office utilizes the latest dental technology to provide our patients with very efficient and effective dental treatments.
- 3D & Panoramic X-Rays — Our detailed digital X-rays assist our team with a variety of different services, like orthodontics and implant placements, as well as diagnosing dental issues that are invisible or difficult to detect with the naked eye.
- Smile Preview Software — Our team can show you a digital simulation of what your smile will look like before a specific restorative or cosmetic dental service is performed to provide you with an opportunity to make adjustments to your treatment plan if you desire.
- Intraoral Camera — Ever wish you could see what your dentist sees? Intraoral cameras are handheld devices that stream live video to a screen that can be viewed by both the dentist and the patient. They also take photos that can be added to a patient’s file for future reference.
- Soft-Tissue Lasers — Dental lasers may sound intimidating, but they actually tend to be more comfortable for patients. Soft-tissue lasers are very precise and efficient at repairing gum tissue that has been adversely affected by periodontal disease.
- Trios Digital Scanners — Digital scanners negate the need for goopy dental impressions that require biting into a tray full of dental putty. A small device is simply run over the teeth and gums, capturing thousands of images and creating highly accurate digital impressions.
- Isolite System — Isolite systems illuminate the inside of the patient’s mouth and provide a place for the patient to rest their jaw during treatments while simultaneously suctioning saliva. Isolite helps make procedures faster, more efficient, and more comfortable for the patient.
- 3D Printing — Our office uses CAD/CAM technology to design custom dental restorations for our patients. Once perfected, our 3D printer can create a brand new restoration in less than an hour! This helps make appointments faster and more convenient for our team and our patients.
